Cole Sprouse and Zelda Williams Interviews for Lisa Frankenstein
Lorin worked with Lisa Frankenstein star Cole Sprouse to develop special movement for The Creature— a decaying, reanimated corpse. In the process, he used mime techniques to help him physically express his character’s personality, thoughts, and emotions without speaking.
The following videos link to portions of interviews with the cast, director, and screenwriter in which Sprouse and director Zelda Williams comment on the choice to have him spend several months training with Lorin.
Top: Cole Sprouse comments on taking on a non-speaking role and working on mime with Lorin to prepare himself for the additional physicality he knew would be required to play The Creature.
Bottom: Zelda Williams discusses how she envisioned Sprouse’s non-verbal character, The Creature. She compares him to famous leading men of the silent film era, like Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, and connects that to her decision to have Sprouse study mime with Lorin to prepare.
